Joakim Malmdin is a Swedish statistician and senior leader with experience in official statistics, statistical governance, quality management and organisational development.

He has held senior positions in Sweden and internationally, and has worked with national statistical organisations and international institutions worldwide.

In August 2026, Joakim took up the position of Head of Unit for Judicial Statistics at the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå), one of Sweden’s authorities responsible for official statistics.
